I used to put away my camera whenever I came home. Having lived there since I was 8, I was sure that there was nothing to take pictures of around me. Photography was for cool places, not the boring old East Coast. Then, I actually looked outside my door. Living in State College, I began to explore the forests and ridges around me, and I realized something. Pennsylvania is amazing. The amount of life that is packed into the woods is incredible. Every area you go to is a new forest, ripe for exploring. Every ridge you stand on is a view over a life-supporting valley. Every season is a new world. I’m proud to have grown up in this area, and will look back on my time spent there fondly no matter where I travel in the world.
